It's been a while since I've written on my blog, but I hope we're now back in business with something for you all.
I'm writing mainly to other business owners here, but if you're not one, just skip to the last paragraph.
As the internet has taken over our lives, new things have come and gone, but one thing is here to stay--Social Networking.
I'm very aware that many of our customers are past there youth, but even if they themselves are not on FaceBook, many of their sons, daughters and grandchildren are, for more time in the day than their long-suffering parents/teachers may like.
And FaceBook is a great way to make new "friends"--people you have something in common with, whether it's where you live, about your working or leisure interests, music, films, games, hobbies, etc.
And We've discovered a great way of tapping into that resource to spread the word about what we do, why you should buy organic/natural/fairly traded products, and, yes, in the end, why you should look to us for some of your needs in this area.
DealsJoy at www.dealsjoy.com have launched a little app that allows businesses with a FaceBook page to offer "deals" in the form of voucher codes to customers in a simple, effective way.
Once you set up an account, type in details of your location and install the "app" on your FaceBook page you're ready to go.
You can offer deals that you know you're customers will want to share with their friends, and as this happens you'll end up with more fans on FaceBook.
Currently we have two deals online. One is 20 percent off one of our limited edition soaps, and the other is for a free month's subscription to our Soap and Candle Club to give customers the chance to beat postage increases coming into effect on Monday in the UK.
Whether or not DealsJoy will overtake the troubled GroupOn is to be seen, but they are to be commended for offering something at no cost to businesses who are struggling in this recession to overcome stiff competition and point consumers their way.
Well done, DealsJoy!
If you want to see what our deals look like, or to see what our current deals If you're a consumer rather than a business or company, why not head over to our Deals page. Let your family and friends know if you yourself aren't on FaceBook, or why not dive in and try FaceBook as a way of keeping in touch?

Essentially Natural Featured on Ethical Community
Our biggest challenge, working in a niche market, is getting known. One way of spreading the word is by our becoming involved with like-minded organisations. We have recently joined www.ethicalcommunity.com , a website promoting ethical, fair trade and eco products.
We are pleased to have one of our products featured in their daily Inspirations. This is something I would like to see other sites do, as it gives a fair crack of the whip to all those companies listed on the site.
EthicalCommunity.com have a rap video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMTWrl2Ic4Q
Which I hope will make you smile and think ethical as you shop for your last-minute Christmas gifts.

Proud to be in Justicia, Bolton!
We are pleased to let you know that we now have a small range of our products at Justicia on Knowsley Street in Bolton. An inviting shop with lots to explore, from eco and Fair Trade to local goods. This is certainly a place to lose yourself in while looking for something environmentally-friendly or that little bit different.

Thumbs up to OnePlanet!
If you haven’t yet been to OnePlanet in Accrington, you’re missing a treat. A shop with lots of hidden gems, from unexpected eco gifts to local jams, jewelry and organic chocolates, as well, of course, as our own soaps and candles.
If you can’t get to 54 Abbey Street, then you can get a good idea of the work the shop does in promoting local products of all kinds by watching the excellently produced film (made by Huckleberry Films) here:
